Historique
The Robert family have been working in wine for several generations but mention will be made only of my father and grand-father.
My grand-father Henry Robert ( 1881-1948 ) worked the land with a horse at a time when the vines were not attached
In the 1930s he created the first wine-farmers cooperative to pool material for pressing and fermenting.
My father André Robert, born in 1925, saw the first vineyard tractors. He bought the Robert estate in 1960, the house standing on lime-stone cellars dating back to the end of the 19th century.
As of then, the first bottles of Robert champagne were elaborated.
Since 1977 I have continued the family tradition exploiting a surface of 11 hectares with my wife Colette.
Our commitment to 'Viticulture Raisonnée' ( a protocol aimed at limiting the amount of chemical products used in the control of pests, rot, weed and mushrooms) is as follows:
- Respect of our health through healthy ripe grapes.
- Respect of the land in order to discover again its full expression in our champagnes.br>
- Respect of the environment in preserving the quality of air and water.
Finally our affiliation to the Independent Wine Producers Confederation is a further guarantee of authenticity in the champagnes we sell.
